And this was a-- this is the, the art for a jigsaw puzzle, um, a wooden jigsaw puzzle.
APPRAISER: You have like, a great cast of characters.
GUEST: Yeah, right.
APPRAISER: So some of everyone's favorites, but it's a really well done.
We looked at it under magnification and you can actually see the pencil underdrawing, gouache, watercolor on board.
And it's a production piece, so this is exactly what the puzzle would've looked like.
So there are actually a lot of other examples of original puzzle art that have come to market... GUEST: Uh-huh.
APPRAISER: ...dating back anytime to the 1960s, because they've been merchandising these characters since the beginning... GUEST: Oh, yeah.
Right.
APPRAISER: ...um, up through the '80s.
So, a similar piece to yours sold recently.
Similar group of characters from the '80s GUEST: Yeah, right.
APPRAISER: ...in the $1,500 range.
GUEST: No way!
Yeah.
Wow.
Well, I'm stunned.
