Backyard Fruit - Budding

Grafting is typically winter work, clipping off scion wood and saving it in order to graft onto a tree or root stock in the coming spring. Budding, however, can be done in the summer as well. It is "tiny work," but it could pay off big if you want to get more varieties out of your fruit trees. Marsha Lindner with Hayfields Orchard breaks down this method.
